About The Modest Journal

logophile [law-guh-fahyl] — noun
a lover of words.

My therapist has told me I have a way with words, that I should stop hiding behind humor (a.k.a. I am funny without even trying), and that one day I should write a book. I think she truly meant it.

And the reason it stayed with me is simple: I’ve always felt it too.

Words have been my safest place — the way I process, connect, and find meaning in the in-between moments of life.

As someone whose love language is Words of Affirmation, a lifelong storyteller, and a person who genuinely wants to inspire others, writing became the most natural extension of who I am. Creating a blog felt like a quiet corner of the internet where I could gather everything I care about — honesty, growth, reflection, humor, and heart — in one intentional space.

The Modest Journal was born from a desire for clarity. From the moments where life didn’t look the way I thought it would — where everything was a little messier, louder, and more beautiful than I planned.

John Lennon said, “Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans.” And mine has been exactly that: unplanned, imperfect, and unexpectedly full.

So I created The Modest Journal as a gentle space to land — for myself, and for anyone moving through a season of growth, healing, or simply trying to slow down long enough to hear themselves again.

It’s a modest space with a meaningful purpose: to offer perspective, encouragement, and a little bit of light on the days it’s hardest to find it.

This is my Modest Journal.
I’m grateful to share it with you.

Love you more,

Morgan
